Currently I am a Hardiman scholar at the National University of Ireland, Galway, where I am a contributing lecturer at the Centre for Global Women’s Studies. My doctoral research explores contemporary femininities, postfeminist digital cultures and the selfie phenomenon. After being nominated by my students, I gave a TEDx Talk about my research in 2016.
As a journalist, I have worked in print, broadcast and digital. I have written for a wide range of titles including The Pool, VICE, Broadly, Irish Tatler, U magazine, Irish Country Magazine, the Irish Independent and many others. I am also a regular contributor and reviewer on RTÉ Radio One’s Arena and TV3’s Midday. Much of my freelance work focuses on popular culture, the arts, women’s rights/histories and social change.
